Fatigue and Endometriosis

Fatigue is a symptom of endometriosis and something I struggled with a LOT after my recent surgery. I constantly felt exhausted which made me feel depressed as I felt so unproductive and couldn’t concentrate on anything 😢

I felt like I couldn’t get through my day without napping 😴 Every task was an effort, even taking a shower was exhausting to me!

I have since discovered that endometriosis is linked to chronic fatigue syndrome.
Endofound.org says the reason why endometriosis and fatigue is linked is “the body’s effort to eliminate the diseased tissue. While the immune system attempts to combat endometriosis, cytokines, also known as inflammatory toxins, are secreted by the tissue. What patients feel to be fatigue is the result of these internal chemicals.”

Fatigue is not just simply feeling tired, it’s constant exhaustion.

Fatigue may have other symptoms, including: muscle or joint aches and pains, headaches, sore glands that are not swollen, difficulty concentrating and confusion, insomnia, flu-like symptoms, dizziness, nausea, heart palpitations.

I have spoken with many women on the @endobeehive page and many have reported relief to hear it was linked as they just felt like they were “lazy” which is definitely not the case at all!

Do you struggle with fatigue? How do you deal with it?

I struggle with Fatigue daily, to the point of waking up and feeling the need to pretty much sleep again as soon as I have done anything (shower, eat, go for a light walk) if I manage a whole busy day doing things or seeing people I basically need to sleep solidly for a couple of days. I don’t know how to manage this and doctors really don’t give much good advice I’ve found.. please do you have any suggestions?x
